Liberal Arts, History and Philosophy

Our Liberal Arts

Our Liberal Arts curriculum is an essential part of our students’ education and introduces students to the world of culture and ideas. Through this diverse curriculum, students develop their understanding of themselves as individuals and their place in the world, and understand their layered identities as Zambians, as Africans and as global citizens, and the rights and responsibilities which come along with these.

Through collaborative learning and research, Crucible students become self-reflective about their own values and their potential to contribute to the different groups to which they belong. They learn to discuss, debate and challenge their understanding of the world around them to bring together ideas and thoughts from a diverse range of experiences.

Crucible Lusaka establishes links with local arts and community groups to lead education within this curriculum, either as one-off projects or the delivery of ongoing lessons. We are always happy to hear from groups that want to work with our students and help us develop new opportunities.
